Elemental Offices - Bios

Our Elemental Offices make up half of our Board and are a very important set of roles in our Church! In keeping  with our philosophy  that no role in our organization is more important than any other, the Elemental Offices are all equal to each other and to the Directors. We have done away with the more traditional hierarchical roles and have replaced them with the Offices, and this creates a harmonious environment in which we can work together  for the greater good.

The Office of Fire is our Events Coordinator and is responsible for making sure that our events happen and with the right set of volunteers, readers, vendors and healers. She also coordinates any workshops, seminars and outside events as well.

Bright Blessings!! My name is Avalon. I am honored to be a part of Sacred Circle and hope that I do my duty well in the Office of Fire. I was raised as an Army officer's brat, we lived all around the world, moving with my family every 4 years. I learned a lot about social acceptance, friendship and diversity in my travels. I was raised and baptized LDS. I was able to explore other religions and am a little OCD when it comes to knowledge of any kind. I explore until I am dead tired but filled with knowledge. I had a hard time accepting the male based attributes of the LDS church and started searching for something more feminine that I could relate to.

At about the age of 16 I came across Earth based religions on my quest for spirituality and started practicing with herbs, stones and crystal energies. I began to realize about 5 years ago that what I had been practicing was Wicca for 14 yrs.

I dedicated myself to the Wiccan Path, the Goddess and Her God on February 11th 2007 with my Sacred Circle friends and took on the magickal name of Avalon Starr. I was ordained as Clergy for the Church of the Sacred Circle at Imbolc of 2010 and took the mantle of Rev. Lady Avalon Starr.  I am married for the third time, now to my soul-mate and best friend Scott, and we have 4 children between the two of us ranging from teen to tweens. I love that this church is so family friendly. We love being members, the kids have a great time!! I am a Cosmetologist of 15 years and also am a licensed instructor. I work at a salon in Sandy and offer hair care, skin care, and body waxing services. Thank you Sacred Circle for your never ending support of the Pagan community !!

Office of Water
The Office of Water is our acting Board Chair and presides over all business meetings and organizes the nomination process, voting, balloting and acts as a tie-breaking vote in case of need. They also will act as the official mediator in case of conflict or difficulty between members.

I have been a member of the church for over 8 years. A regular volunteer, Intuitive Oracle & Tarot Consultant for our psychic fundraisers and booth events. I hail from the west coast and followed my now husband Nate to Utah. I am an avid collector of Oracle Tools and practitioner of the Intuitive Arts. I guide our Intuitive & Divination gathering, which is held the 3rd Friday of each month at 7pm. I enjoy our Mooncrafts held Sundays near the full moon. My spiritual path is a blend of Druidry with Craft - weaving it all together with Faerie Mysticism.

For me the Earth is Mother or Goddess. I work within the Triple Realms of Land, Sea, & Sky cosmology for my workings/rituals & spiritual view in general; which brings a nice, slightly different feel to the Mooncrafts I volunteer to guide. I enjoy the opportunities to share and learn of other pagan paths here at Sacred Circle.

I am a mostly stay at home mother of two boys, as a hobby/career on the side, I offer Readings at Elemental Inspirations by appointment on Sat's. I love to read for events and parties as well.

Being of Service through Readings or the board is a blessing and gives me purpose, this is one of the reasons I am Office of Water here at Sacred Circle. To do what I can to help grow a community that is supportive and fun to be part of. I hope we can help you along to your path or at least have some really fun times together.

May laughter ring within the Realms,
Clove

Office of Earth
earth () sacredcirclechurch.com

The Office of Earth is our financial wizard and is responsible for all of our material needs. This Office is also in charge of our physical surroundings and for coordinating and keeping track of all of our assets, budgets, donations and those things which make our Temple and events possible.

Hello my name is Emeralde. The Church of the Sacred Circle has been a blessing to me and my family. I knew very early on after attending just a few services that I wanted to be more involved. I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve as Office of Earth.

I have completed the introductory class and the self-initiation class that the church offers and I continue to seek knowledge on my own. I love mother earth and all the plant allies that live here. I am currently pursuing a degree in horticulture and plan to go on to take an herbalism course.

My immediate family (husband and children) have been very supportive of my involvement with the church, so at any given function you may see as few as zero kids with me up to my whole gang which includes my dearest husband, three step-daughters, five daughters, three sons, two sons in law and a grandbaby on the way.

A little bit about my background. I was raised extremely LDS I was not allowed to even see what other religions were out there. This seemed very wrong to me. When I was finally out of that influence I met a practicing Pagan who taught me a little bit and I also read many books, but it wasn’t until about 2008 that I truly dedicated myself to living an earth based life. I also encourage my children to seek their own truths.

Thank you Church of the Sacred Circle

Blessed Be,
Emeralde

Although born a pagan I did not discover that there were others like me until I was nearly 20 years old. After 2 years of work and study I dedicated myself to doing Her work and took a solemn vow of Service to the Lady and Lord. Fulfilling that vow has become my life's work, and I am passionate about helping others to come to know the Goddess and God and to become the best person that they can be through that knowledge. I am one of the founders of Sacred Circle, which I started in 2003 after teaching my Wicca 101 class for several years and seeing the frustration that my students had in finding a group which was open to new members and was supportive of their growth in a safe and welcoming way. We have also been committed from the start to being a very family friendly organization and we always welcome children to our circles.

I have been in service to the Goddess for over 21 years. I have been active in the Salt Lake Pagan community for most of that time with the exception of a three year hiatus in Florida. While in Florida I had the great fortune to be involved with a group called the WRCF, which was a very enlightening experience. I also married my soulmate during this time, and we were blessed with our beautiful daughter. We returned to Utah in the spring of 2001. Our son was born the day after our MoonCraft gathering in February, 2004.

My background includes study in Celtic Wicca, Tibetan Buddhism, Asatru, herbalism, astrology, tarot, Qabala, Shamanism and comparative religion. I teach a beginner's class and a guided self-initiation class once a year. I am a professional webmaster and graphic artist by trade. I help my husband run his business as well and in my free time (riiight) I volunteer with various pagan community groups such as SunStave Circle.
