Avalon Starr
Office of Air
avalon () sacredcirclechurch.com

Bright Blessings!! My name is Avalon. I am honored to be a part of Sacred Circle and hope that I do my duty well in the Office of Air. I was raised as an Army officer's brat, we lived all around the world, moving with my family every 4 years. I learned a lot about social acceptance, friendship and diversity in my travels. I was raised and baptized LDS. I was able to explore other religions and am a little OCD when it comes to knowledge of any kind. I explore until I am dead tired but filled with knowledge. I had a hard time accepting the male based attributes of the LDS church and started searching for something more feminine that I could relate to.

At about the age of 16 I came across Earth based religions on my quest for spirituality and started practicing with herbs, stones and crystal energies. I began to realize about 5 years ago that what I had been practicing was Wicca for 14 yrs.

I just recently dedicated myself to the Wiccan Path, the Goddess and Her God on February 11th 2007 with my Sacred Circle friends and took on the magickal name of Avalon Starr. I am married for the third time to my soul-mate and best friend Scott, and we have 4 children between the two of us ranging from teen to tweens. I love that this church is so family friendly. We love being members, the kids have a great time!! I am a Cosmetologist of 15 years and also am a licensed instructor. I work at a salon in Murray and offer hair care, skin care, and body waxing services. Thank you Sacred Circle for your never ending support of the Pagan community !!

Rev. Heron

Although born a pagan I did not discover that there were others like me until I was nearly 20 years old.
After 2 years of work and study I dedicated myself to doing Her work and took a solemn vow of Service to the Lady and Lord. Fulfilling that vow has become my life's work, and I am passionate about helping others to come to know the Goddess and God and to become the best person that they can be through that knowledge.  I am one of the founders of Sacred Circle, which I started in 2003 after teaching my Wicca 101 class for several years and seeing the frustration that my students had in finding a group which was open to new members and was supportive of their growth in a safe and welcoming way. We have also been committed from the start to being a very family friendly organization and we always welcome children to our circles.

I have been in service to the Goddess for over 16 years. I have been active in the Salt Lake Pagan community for most of that time with the exception of a three year hiatus in Florida. While in Florida I had the great fortune to be involved with a group called the WRCF, which was a very enlightening experience. I also married my soulmate during this time, and we were blessed with our beautiful daughter.  We returned to Utah in the spring of 2001. Our son was born the day after our MoonCraft gathering in February, 2004.

My background includes study in Celtic Wicca, Tibetan Buddhism, Asatru, herbalism, astrology, tarot, Qabala, Shamanism and comparative religion. I teach a beginner's class a few times a year. I am a professional webmaster and graphic artist by trade. I help my husband run his business as well and in my free time (riiight) I volunteer with various pagan community groups such as SunStave Circle.

I have been a member of the Church of the Sacred Circle since October 2003 – the first Sacred Circle
gathering ever held. It has been a wonderful learning experience for me. I am relatively new to the Pagan
path and have only been delving into all these mysteries for about three years now (it seems much shorter).

I was raised LDS, with my father actually serving as bishop when I was a teenager. I left that church, my first husband and Utah in the 80’s. I spent several years in Denver, CO with husband number two. During that time
I focused on my career, raising my girls and did not have any religion or path – I just felt lost.

Now however, in the Mundane World, my husband Walt (third time is the charm!) and I live in Salt Lake City.
I am a Mother of three daughters and two stepsons – all grown up. I am a Grandma of six, four boys and
two girls. My newest granddaughter, Hallie, was just born on Feb. 2, 2005!

I am a career woman, as a Human Resources Manager. My family all pretty much lives in this area so I am spoiled that way.

One of my favorite things to do is read. I am a voracious reader. My husband even built me a library for Mother’s Day two years ago. I have very eclectic taste in reading material and am never happy if I don’t have three or four different kinds books that I reading at the same time.

I love the members of the Church of the Sacred Circle for the spirituality, guidance, kindness, and inspiration they have shown me. My philosophy of life is pretty simple; Try to be mindful of every moment and show kindness and care to all things.

I performed a self-dedication ceremony this February (2006) and took my magickal name of Crystal SilverEagle.

I was born and raised out side of Chicago more years ago than I care to remember. I graduated from USU in
1978 with a degree in Geography. I stayed in Logan after I graduated and worked in maintenance. I have
worked in maintenance ever since. I have been in a supervisor for quite a few years now.

I have organized the installation and start up of over 5 different companies over the past 30 years.

I have worked with the media on several different occasions. I am fairly computer literate and still learning.

I have been following the Solitary Wiccan path for 30 years and have just recently come out of the broom
closet with a few of my close friends.

Elena Gray Owl

By our tradition, I became of age at eight years old. Thus, my grandmother, the wise healer of our clan gave me a name which meant from that moment on, my relations stopped referring to me as "child", and I became known as Elena, member of the Clan of the Owl, free to pursue my destiny and find my own gifts and calling.

I am Elena (which in our language means moonlight), daughter of Nicole, daughter of Marie (Mitxa). Women of Yaqui and Aztec blood, dedicated to the learning and understanding of the ways of healing, blessed and protected by the spirit of the Owl.

I came to Utah ten years ago, after serving for two years with the U.S. Embassy in the Congo ( Zaire ) Africa . My service with the U.S. Government allowed me to live in places like Korea and Europe, but I remain fondest of the native people of Africa , from whom I learned much. My professional background includes public speaking, 12 years of corporate training and Employment and Civil Rights Law.

I practice the way of life of my ancestors, with some minor differences due to my interest in Wicca. I worship the Moon (and live my life by it's influence and cycles) and have been known to pray to Athena for guidance. Like my grandmother and my mother before me, the study of herbalism and healing are essential to my practice in order to assist those around me. I live my life with full intention, and apply what I learn everyday so I can be guided by a simple sense of wisdom and love for
my surroundings

I am thankful for the Church of the Sacred Circle , their awesome and caring people, and for the friendship they have offered me. I respect and count them among my circle of friends, and welcome the opportunity to serve our community in any capacity.

I have been a member of  Sacred Circle Church since January 2004.  I have looked for a pagan community to belong to for years. I found the church by attending Sunstave events and am so happy to have found this group. I have much to learn about my chosen path. I am at the beginning and excited to be working to gain knowledge about the path and to be among like minded people.

I am from Utah and have lived here all of my life except for a time when I was 20. I left Utah for California to drop out and become a hippie. I made a terrible hippie and was back within a year.

I am retired and live with my husband in West Valley. We have 3 sons, 2 daughter-in-laws and 5 beautiful grandchildren. We enjoy doing water aerobics every day and we love to travel and go camping.

I started out in life rather normal, born a day early and a bit headstrong. I started charging in very young, it's bitten me a time or two. It's taught me to evaluate first then act.

It wasn't until I started with the Boy Scouts that real leadership began to sink in. Shortly thereafter, as I was entering high school, I got involved in the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps.

Since then I have been through many leadership trials and tribulations. From my time with the military, seven years now, to everyday life and work. I tend to be levelheaded and listen to inner reason before charging in.

I have spoken greatly of leadership because it is a leadership role I've been nominated to. I will use the knowledge to the betterment of the Church and and the Pagan community as a whole.

Blessings of Love, Life, and Enlightenment
